CHANGE - to make the form, nature, content, future course...of something different from what it would be if left alone: to transform or convert:to substitute one thing for another.

True change requires a person to expend energy and sustain that energy.  It is inherent for humans to want to stay in a homeostasis state.  To keep things the same.  In order to take charge of your life permanent change has to take place.  "The key to change...is to let go of fear." -R. Cash

HealthyTactics is here to help you make the changes you NEED to reach your goals.

MIND

5 Questions to Ask Yourself to Gage Whether You are Mentally Ready for Change:

1.  Have you identified the main areas you need to change to reach your goal?

2. Have you identified how to adjust your environment (home, work, car...)in order to make change easier?

3. Have you identified who will help you make the necessary changes easier?  Have you asked them for help?

4. Have you identified who makes changing harder?  Have you talked to them about it? Do you have a plan in place in case they aren't receptive to helping you?

5. Have you found or purchased anything necessary to make the change easier and possible?

Keep a Health Log.   Write all these questions down and record the answers.

BODY

5 Things to Help Make Changes to Your Diet and Exercise Regime:

1. Clean out the refrigerator/freezer/cabinets.  Get rid of foods that make change harder.  Purchase natural foods that will make change easier.

2. Make healthy choices always accessible and easily visible.  Consider grocery delivery if time is an issue.

3. Limit restaurant visits.  Plan as many meals as possible at the beginning of the week.  The more you have control over your meals the more you know exactly what you are putting in your body.

4. Identify the types of cardio and resistance training you can commit to and enjoy.  You won't always love it but you will never regret it.  Variety is the spice of life so vary your workouts.  You will have better results.

5.Put your exercise time on your calendar.  Treat it like a Doctors appointment.   Don't change it.  Schedule everything you can around it.

SPIRIT

At the end of the day turn off all screens an hour before you go to sleep.  Write in your health journal what went right today.  Write what went wrong and give yourself 3 ways to do it differently next time.

Think about how you are feeling mentally.  Are you truly happy?  What can you do to position yourself for true happiness?  Only you can control your happiness.

You will sleep much better when you clear your mind and have a plan in place for any problems that you may have in life.  Science has proven that you make better decisions  with proper sleep.

Finally, read something happy and positive  before you close your eyes.   Always end your day on a high note!
